Andy Wood

Andy Wood joined the FOX Carolina Weather Team in September 2006 as the weekend meteorologist.

Andy grew up in Manchester, Tennessee. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in broadcast meteorology. He says his love for weather can be attributed to the Blizzard of 1993, and how the powerful storm blanketed his hometown and other parts of middle Tennessee with close to a foot of snow.

Andy comes to the Carolinas from WMAZ-TV in Macon, Georgia. Prior to that, he worked at WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi.

Aside from paying close attention to the weather, Andy enjoys staying in shape, skiing and playing golf. He is a huge fan of the University of Tennessee's football and basketball teams and also closely follows the Nashville Predators.

You can e-mail Andy at andy.wood@foxcarolina.com.
