Melissa Jones

Melissa Jones joined the FOX Carolina weather team in February 2006 as the meteorologist on “The Morning News”.

Melissa developed a love for weather at an early age. She decided to make a career out of it when a meteorologist from a TV station in her hometown of Atlanta visited her school.

Melissa attended Mississippi State University where she graduated with a degree in geosciences and an emphasis in broadcast meteorology.

Melissa comes to the Carolinas from KTVE/KARD-TV in West Monroe, La. where she was the morning meteorologist. There she became accustomed to rising at a very early hour!

While in Louisiana, Melissa covered everything from tornadoes to the landfall of Hurricane Katrina.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys cooking, anything that involves being outdoors and, in the fall, watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football.
