According to the Identity Theft Resource Center, identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in the U.S., and it's not just limited to finances. It can include criminal identity theft, governmental identity theft, and medical identity theft. Experts say that one of the best ways to protect your identity is to shred documents that contain sensitive, personal or confidential information.

FOX Carolina, along with its sponsors, Bank of Travelers Rest and Cintas Document Management, want to help keep your identity safe. Come out to shred your personal documents to protect yourself from identity theft.

• This free service is intended for residential use only, and will be limited to a certain number of boxes per person (to be determined). Businesses are not allowed at the event.
