Spiller Will Return To Clemson For Senior Season

Clemson, SC -- (Sports Network) - Clemson junior running back C.J. Spiller announced Thursday that he intends to return to school for his senior season."I spoke with a lot of people about this decision and took my time evaluating all the factors, but the best decision for me is to play the 2009 football season at Clemson University," Spiller said at an afternoon press conference. "I still have much to accomplish." Spiller led the ACC with 147.5 all-purpose running yards in 2008. He enters the 2009 season the school's leader in all-purpose yards with 4,908. The Florida native racked up 629 rushing yards and 436 receiving yards last season for Clemson, which finished 7-6 and lost to Nebraska, 26-21, in the Gator Bowl. Over his first three seasons with the Tigers, Spiller has 87 receptions for 917 yards and seven TDs, while adding three touchdowns on kickoff returns. "I am obviously thrilled that C.J. Spiller will be returning to Clemson next year," said Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney.
