Report: Florida TE Ingram Has Torn ACL

POSTED: 7:31 pm EDT August 7, 2008

(Sports Network) - University of Florida senior tight end Cornelius Ingram has reportedly torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, effectively ending his 2008 season.

According to Sporting News, Ingram, who redshirted in 2004, would have to apply for an NCAA waiver to return for the 2009 season or could choose to enter the 2009 NFL Draft. He considered leaving the Gators this past season but chose to return for his senior campaign.

The six-foot-four product from Hawthorne, FL, posted 34 catches for 508 yards and seven touchdowns last season in 12 games, including five starts. Sophomores Aaron Hernandez and Tate Casey are expected to fill in for Ingram.
