(Sports Network) - Rodney Landers threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score, as the James Madison Dukes edged the Wofford Terriers, 38-35, in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

Landers threw for 126 yards and ran for 166 for the Dukes (11-1), who will now play Villanova in the FCS quarterfinals. Eugene Holloman ran for 116 yards and a score, while Rockeed McCarter caught three passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Bosco Williams added a receiving score for James Madison.

Dane Romero ran for 87 yards and four scores for the Terriers (9-3), who failed to advance past the first round for the first time in three FCS playoff appearances. Mike Rucker ran for 107 yards and a score in defeat, and Andy Strickland caught three passes for 62 yards for Wofford.

James Madison had a 28-14 lead at halftime, but Romero's third and fourth touchdowns of the game made it a tie game after the third quarter.

Dave Stannard's 24-yard field goal put the Dukes ahead by three early in the fourth, and Landers rushed for a six-yard score late in the period for a 10- point Dukes advantage. Rucker rushed for a Wofford touchdown late, but the onside kick attempt failed, and James Madison ran out the clock from there.
