Andy Wood

Weekend Meteorologist

Andy Wood is the meteorologist on The Ten O'Clock News from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Andy grew up in Manchester, Tenn., and went to school at Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a degree in geosciences/meteorology.

Andy says that his motivation to become a meteorologist came from several big Tennessee snow storms that covered his yard with the white stuff in 1993, 1996 and 1997.

While earning his degree, Andy worked as a weekend meteorologist for WTOK-TV in Meridian, Miss.

After working in Meridian for three months, Andy landed his next job at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Ga. He spent two years there working first as weekend meteorologist and finally as morning meteorologist.

In September 2006, Andy moved to the Upstate of South Carolina to work as the weekend meteorologist for FOX Carolina.
