Kendra Kent

Chief Meteorologist

Kendra Kent is the chief meteorologist at FOX Carolina. She anchors the weather segments during FOX Carolina News at 6:30, which airs from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and The Ten O’Clock News, which airs from 10 to 11 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

Kendra grew up in Galveston, Texas and went to school at Tulane University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. She also attended Mississippi State University where she graduated with a graduate degree in broadcast meteorology.

Kendra’s first job was in Fort Smith, Ark., where she worked as the weekend meteorologist at KFSM-TV for two years. There she experienced all kinds of severe and winter weather.

While in Fort Smith, Ark., Kendra became an amateur HAM radio operator.

In June 2008, Kendra came to FOX Carolina, where she uses her expertise to keep western Carolina viewers safe and informed during severe weather.

On the weekends, I love to: relax, play tennis, watch movies and cook.

My favorite movie is: "Finding Nemo."

My favorite food is: Sushi.

Hidden talents: I'm really good at Wheel of Fortune.

Hobbies: Cooking and traveling with my husband Brannon. I also enjoy rooting for the Atlanta Braves, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Bama!

Pets: Bufkit, my siamese cat.

Community Service Projects: I walk dogs at the Greenville Humane Society once a week.

Most memorable story: When I covered severe weather in Fort Smith we had a rotating storm that passed over our studio. A tornado never formed, but hail damaged much of downtown and totaled my car!
