GAFFNEY, S.C. -- A New York-based company said Tuesday that it plans to relocate to South Carolina, bringing hundreds of jobs to Cherokee County in the process.The president of Jetline, Eric Levin, was joined by Gov. Mark Sanford and Gaffney leaders for Tuesday’s announcement.Levin said that his company, which makes promotional products, will be moving into the old Oxford plant at 202 Hyatt St.The company chose Gaffney because of its strategic shipping location, quality of life, and ease of working with state and local government, Levin said.Jetline plans to hire about 100 people in its first three months, Levin said. He said that the company will likely hire between 150 and 200 people in the following three months. He said that between 300 and 400 people could be hired within the company’s first five years.Karen Lawson of the South Carolina Employment Security Commission’s Gaffney office said that people can begin applying for the jobs now.She said that applications can be submitted at any state employment offices or online at sctechjobs.com.The jobs range from accounting to customer service to manufacturing.
