Nuggets Trade Away Only Pick In Draft

POSTED: 6:07 pm EDT June 25, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets traded their only remaining pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, the 20th overall selection, to the Charlotte Bobcats for a future protected first-round pick Wednesday.

The protection clause means that the Nuggets will not receive the first-round pick in a year that the Bobcats' selection falls into a lottery slot, which would be a top-14 pick.

The Bobcats now own the ninth and 20th overall selections in the first round and the 38th overall pick in the second round.

The Nuggets former rights to the 56th overall selection in the second round belong to the Seattle Supersonics.
