GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The family of a gay man who was killed outside a Greenville County nightclub said the charges against his accused killer have been reduced.Deputies said 20-year-old Sean Kennedy was attacked on May 16 in the parking lot of the former Brew’s nightclub by Stephen Moller because he was gay. Kennedy later died from his injuries.Deputies charged Moller with murder.On Tuesday, a Greenville County Grand Jury handed down an indictment for a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter against Moller, Kennedy’s family said.Since her son’s death, Kennedy’s mother, Elke, has used his death to bring awareness to the need for hate crime legislation.Kennedy’s family has scheduled a news conference in front of the Greenville County Courthouse for Wednesday afternoon to react to the reduced charge.Stay with FOX Carolina and foxcarolina.com for the latest on this developing story.
