Greenville police are investigating a mystery involving human body parts found at two different locations.

According to Cpl. Jason Rampey of the Greenville Police Department, the first call came in at about 8 a.m. Monday from a resident at Andover Park Apartments, 831 Cleveland Street. Police said the caller reported that she had found what appeared to be human body parts. While officers were investigating at that location, a second caller, a resident at 113 Rose Ave., also reported having found human body parts, Rampey said.

The two callers are related, according to Rampey. The two locations are just over a mile apart.

At this time, officers are not releasing what parts were found, where they were found or who found them.

Rampey said investigators are continuing to interview family members, as well as witnesses. Officers also will begin reviewing missing persons files in an attempt to identify the body parts.
