GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Deputies said one man is dead and another in the hospital after a fight between them escalated to a stabbing on Friday afternoon.

The altercation happened at 7 Mahon Street just off Poinsett Highway.

Deputies said the two men got into a fight when they pulled out knives. One of the men was stabbed and the other man suffered cuts.

Investigators said the man who was stabbed walked down the street from the home toward Poinsett Highway where emergency crews found him.

Witnesses said they could see a blood trail on the sidewalk leading away from the home.

Deputies said both of the men were taken to the hospital. They said the man who was stabbed died at the hospital.
