GREER, S.C. -- The family of a woman who was shot to death behind the wheel of her car on Monday said the suspect had been stalking her.Police said 41-year-old Sheila Grayson was pulling out of her driveway around 5:30 a.m. when 44-year-old Robert Emory Irby shot her several times. Grayson’s car then rolled into a neighbor’s house.Investigators said Grayson and Irby used to date, but in the past several months she reported harassing phone calls and had filed for a restraining order against Irby.Grayson’s family said she told them on several occasions she was in fear for her life.
“He was harassing her,” said Grayson’s brother, George. “She had to go to motels just to get a good night’s sleep. That’s how stalking he was.”FOX Carolina spoke with Irby’s brother who called the death a tragedy for both families.
