Deputies Discover Lab While Serving Warrant

CHESNEE, S.C. -- Two people were arrested Wednesday after deputies said they found a methamphetamine lab in a home.Deputies said they were conducting surveillance on a home at 350 Gregg Circle after a citizen’s complaint about the drug being produced there.Investigators said they had a warrant for Robert Wyatt, who lives at the home, on an unrelated charged. They watched Wyatt walk outside the home to a small building in the yard, deputies said.Deputies moved in on the out-building, opened the door and saw Wyatt inside wearing a respirator and standing near the active lab.
After finding the lab, deputies obtained a search warrant for the home and discovered about 31 grams of methamphetamine and lab equipment used to make the drug inside.Wyatt, 35, and Tonya Lynn Turner, 35, were charged with trafficking methamphetamine more than 100 grams and possession of marijuana. Wyatt was also charged with possession with intent to distribute ecstasy.Both Wyatt and Turner were being held at the Spartanburg County Jail. Wyatt’s bond was set at $108,000 and Turner’s bond was set at $5,500.
