Firefighters said a man died at the hospital after being found inside a burning home Wednesday night.

Duncan firefighters were called to a home on Chapel Road around 10 p.m. Wednesday. They said 51-year-old Kenneth Knight was found inside the home and transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Knight was pronounced dead early Thursday morning, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said. They said he died from burns and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Two other people were inside the home at the time of the fire and were able to escape, firefighters said.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
