Deputies Name Suspect, Identify Victim In Taylors Shooting

TAYLORS, S.C. -- Deputies said warrants were issued for the arrest of a man believed to be connected to a shooting on Wednesday night.The shooting happened at 760 Boling Road around 8:30 p.m.Deputies said they received a 911 call from the victim’s stepsister. She said she found her stepbrother on the front porch of his home after hearing him call for help.Deputies said when they arrived they found 31-year-old Deran Jamison who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
Investigators said they are not sure what led to the shooting. However, they have issued warrants for the arrest of 27-year-old Jeffery Ray Jennings. Jennings is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.Deputies said Jennings is believed to be driving a yellow Chevrolet Colorado truck with Tennessee plates.Anyone with information on this case or Jennings’ whereabouts was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
