A crash in downtown Greenville on Thursday morning knocked out power to hundreds of homes and left traffic signals dark.

The crash happened at the intersection of Buncombe and Butler streets.

Police said a car hit a power pole and knocked it down. The felled pole also brought down some power lines connected to it.

Power company repair crews were called in to replace the pole and restore power.

Police directed traffic at several intersections near the crash site.

As of 12:45 p.m. Duke Energy reported more than 400 homes without power.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
