State Treasurer Converse Chellis personally delivered a check to someone with unclaimed property on Thursday.

Chellis said he took the check for $54.74 to 100-year-old Hattie Miller because Miller might be the oldest person to ever receive unclaimed property in the country.

Miller said a niece found out she was owed the money after hearing about South Carolina's unclaimed property program – Palmetto Payback.

Chellis gave Miller her check at the Happy Home Adult Day Care Center in Spartanburg.
