Crash Call Turns Into Shooting Investigation

Man Reports Crash; Troopers Find Him Shot

Deputies said a man called in a car crash on Friday morning, but when troopers arrived they found the man had been shot.

Investigators said the man reported the crash on Belhaven Road Extension.

When Highway Patrol arrived at the scene, they found the man sitting in his car with gunshot wounds.

The man was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital. There was no word on his condition.

The victim told deputies he was shot in the parking lot of an Ingles grocery store in Belton.

Investigators from both the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Belton Police Department were working on the case.
