Police said two men were huffing keyboard cleaner just before the car they were in exploded in a parking lot.

The incident happened near the civic center baseball fields on Mall Road around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Anderson police said two men were sitting in a car parked in a lot next to the baseball fields, huffing keyboard cleaner in aerosol cans. They said the men had all the windows rolled up on the car.

Investigators said one of the men tried to light a cigarette and the chemicals from the keyboard cleaner ignited, causing all the windows in the car to be blown out.

One of the men suffered second-degree burns on his hands, face, legs and neck. The other man suffered second-degree burns to his chest, neck and face.

Both men were airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center. There was no word on their condition or whether charges would be filed in the case.
