A man from Spartanburg is dead following a shooting at a Gaffney home on Sunday morning.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said the incident occurred at 10:15 a.m. at 122 Sharon Drive.

Witnesses said 53-year-old Richard Bryant and a female were fighting at the home just before Bryany was shot in the chest.

Fowler said a woman was taken into custody at the scene by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

An autopsy has been ordered to assist in the investigation, according to Fowler.
