Police Searching For Channing Chester

Police named a suspect in a shooting that sent one man to the hospital on Saturday.

The shooting happened at the Belton Woods apartment complex at 109 Howard Lane around 1:45 p.m.

Police said when they arrived they found one man had been shot. He was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

Investigators said they are looking for a white Jeep Cherokee that was seen leaving the area as shots were fired.

Randall Williams, of the Anderson Police Department, said officers have obtained warrants for the arrest of 18-year-old Channing Chester. He has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Anyone with information on this case or Chester’s whereabouts was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 231-STOP.
