POWDERSVILLE, S.C. -- A pilot is recovering after his ultralight plane crashed on Thursday night.The crash happened off Piedmont Road.The man was trying to land his ultralight plane, also called a motorized hang glider, when it crashed into a wooded area.One of the pilot’s family members told FOX Carolina News that he suffered a broken back, a broken leg, fractures to his face and burns over 14 percent of his body.As of Thursday night, officials said the pilot was headed into surgery.The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
