ENOREE, S.C. -- The family of a couple that was trapped inside a home during a fire on Thursday morning said the couple died.

The fire happened at a home near the intersection of Highway 221 and Kilgore Road around 5 a.m.

Firefighters said the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene.

FOX Carolina News was told by a family member that a husband and wife who lived at the home were killed. They said the couple’s dog was also killed in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
