The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the body of a woman found along Lakeside Road on Monday afternoon is that of a missing woman.

Talibah Lanease Allen, 31, was reported missing on Jan. 10.

Investigators said Allen was shot in the chest.

Allen's car was found at 105 Cedar Lane Court in the rear parking area of Mt. Moriah Church. Allen was reported missing after a local search was unsuccessful.

Allen had been under medical care and was taking required medications. She would have been without them for several days.

Deputies said her body was discovered by some dirt bike riders in the area.

"It's devestating," said Evelyn Allen, the victim's mother. "She was with a friend and told me she would be on her way home and be there by nine because she needed to take her medication."

Evelyn Allen said her daughter never made it home.

Evelyn Allen said she was worried about her daughter because she had been involved in an abusive relationship.

Anyone having information on this case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
