Deputies arrested a second man on Monday in connection with a series of shootings in Spartanburg County this weekend.

Darius Cathcart, 23, of Wellford, was arrested on Sunday and 19-year-old Rashawn Reeder, of Spartanburg, was arrested on Monday.

Both Cathcart and Reeder were charged with murder, assault and battery with intent to kill and assault with intent to kill.

Deputies said that 16-year-old Duncan “AJ” Geter was killed in a shooting that happened near the intersection of Mount Pleasant and Burns roads in the Lakeview Manor community early Saturday morning.

Investigators said that four people showed up at two area hospitals early Saturday morning with gunshot wounds. Geter, Cathcart and Reeder were three of the four people. Geter later died from his injuries.

Cathcart was arrested after deputies found a car similar to one believed to be involved in the shooting on fire near Smythe Street in Una on Saturday night, investigators said.

There were no details released about Reeder’s arrest.
