Another student from Wren High School was killed in a car crash over the weekend. His is the third such death at the school in less than a month.

Troopers said that 18-year-old Christopher Rose was driving on River Road near Saluda Drive in Williamston on Sunday morning when he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree. They said Rose was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. Rose was killed in the crash.

Rose was a senior at Wren High School.

The high school lost two other students in a Feb. 27 car crash on Campbell Road.

Troopers said that Priscilla Donald and her sister Lydia were killed with when their car left the road, went down an embankment and hit a tree.

The Highway Patrol said that in both crashes, speed and no seat belts were contributing factors.

“The Wren family is devastated by the news of the loss of Christopher,” said Wren Principal Robbie Binnicker in a statement released to FOX Carolina. “It’s a difficult time for the student, dealing with another student loss so soon.”

Binnicker said that counselors will be on hand at the school to help students cope with Rose’s death.
