ROEBUCK, S.C. -- Deputies said a homeowner fought off a man who broke into his home on Monday morning.Investigators released a sketch of the man believed to be responsible for at least 20 burglaries in the area, including one on Monday morning.Deputies said the man rang the doorbell at the home in the Dorman Meadows neighborhood. They said that when the homeowner walked into the living room to answer the door he saw a man climbing through the front window.Investigators said the burglar was wearing a tool belt and tried to attack the homeowner with a screwdriver. They said the homeowner was able to grab the screwdriver and then hit the burglar.“He went back inside to hit the alarm panel,” said Brandy Manigan, the homeowner’s wife, as she talks about what her husband did during the break in. “When he got back to the hallway the guy was coming into the living room and going toward the television.”Anyone with information about the rash of burglaries is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 58-CRIME.
