Deputies said they have arrested a man in connection with a rash of burglaries in Roebuck.

Investigators released a sketch on Monday after they say a man broke into a home with the homeowner still inside. They said the man tried to attack the homeowner with a screwdriver.

Deputies said that 46-year-old Donald Hill Jr. was arrested in Greenville County on May 2, 2008. They said that information obtained during that arrest, in addition to the sketch, helped them identify Hill as the suspect.

Hill was arrested near the Spartanburg-Laurens County line on Tuesday.

Deputies said Hill confessed to committing burglaries in the Bordeaux, Timm Creek and Droman Meadows neighborhoods.

Hill was charged with first-degree burglary and assault and battery with intent to kill in connection with Monday’s break-in. Police said they believe more charges will be brought against Hill as the investigation continues.
