WOODRUFF, S.C. -- Superintendent Rallie Liston said there was no evidence of hazing among baseball players at Woodruff High School. The superintendent of Spartanburg County District 4 released his findings during a news conference on Thursday.Dr. Liston said that on several occasions players had their pants pulled down and were spanked by other members of the team as an initiation. He called the behavior inappropriate, but said he does not think it is hazing.Liston said he does not believe any coach participated in or watched the initiation.“There is a difference in the coach standing there and participating in it, and then not having knowledge,” Liston said.None of the players involved in the investigation will be suspended or expelled, Liston said.Liston said that prosecutors are reviewing his findings to determine if charges should be filed. The case should be closed by the end of next week, Liston said.
