A 130-year-old home in Greenwood County was destroyed by fire on Wednesday morning, the owner of the home said.

The fire happened at about 4 a.m. at 2440 Cokesbury Road, also known as Highway 254.

Firefighters said that when they arrived the roof had collapsed, which kept them from entering the house.

The owner of the house, George Ebo, said the home had been in his family since the 1920’s, and that it was filled with old furniture and antiques.

Firefighters shut down part of Cokesbury Road for about two hours while they battled the blaze, but it has since reopened.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
