Firefighters said the roof of an Anderson County home collapsed Friday morning as crews arrived to battle a blaze there.

The fire happened at about 5:30 a.m. at a home on Bowden Drive.

A teenager who lives at the home arrived at about 6:30 a.m. to find fire trucks in front of the house. He said that his mom and dad left for vacation early Friday morning with his little brother.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The teen said his family has lived in the home for 15 years.
