Deputies said that two men were arrested on Wednesday after they crashed their car and then ran from authorities.

The crash happened near the intersection of Interstate 85 and White Horse Raod.

Investigators said that a deputy was trying to pull over the car the pair were in after the vehicle ran a red light. They said that was when the car sped up and crashed into a van. They said the two men inside the car then jumped out and ran away.

Deputies said they arrested one of the men at the scene of the crash and that the second man was able to run further down the road before he was apprehended.

A woman and her two children grandchildren were in the van that was hit.

Deputies said the pair will be charged with various traffic violations. They said they are not sure why the two men ran.

The names of the two men were not released as of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
