2 Waffle Houses Robbed In Last Week

Deputies said Tuesday that two Waffle House robberies that have happened in the past week may be connected.

The first robbery happened at the Waffle House on Highway 101 in Greer last Wednesday.

Investigators said two men walked into the restaurant carrying guns and ordered employees to hand over money. No one was injured in this robbery.

The second robbery happened at the Waffle House on Pottery Road around 3 a.m. Monday.

Deputies said two men walked into the all-night restaurant carrying guns closely resembling the weapons used in the first robbery. They said the men took the employees’ wallets and cash from the register.

Investigators said the bandits involved in both robberies have similar mannerisms and modes of operation.

“They’ve done it twice now in less than a week’s time,” said Tony Ivey of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office. “This time they tried to break in to steal the video surveillance tape, so I think they’re aware of it.”

Anyone with information on either of the robberies was asked to call Spartanburg County Crime Stoppers at 58-CRIME.
