Dozens Displaced After Greenville Fire

12 Apartments Destroyed, 20 More Damaged

Dozens of people were trying to find a new place to live on Monday after a fire destroyed a dozen apartments in Greenville on Sunday.

The fire happened at the Hampton Forest Apartments on Wade Hampton Boulevard.

Firefighters said that 20 units were damaged by the blaze in addition to the 12 that were destroyed.

The American Red Cross said it is providing food and relief to the more than 40 people affected by the fire.

Firefighters said that one person was injured while trying to escape the blaze, but that person was expected to recover.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation on Monday morning.
