GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Three people were in custody after a car chase in Greenville County Thursday afternoon.Greenville County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Shea Smith said around 1 p.m. a deputy spotted a vehicle near Pendleton Street and Easley Bridge Road that matched the description of a vehicle involved in an armed robbery at Westside Detail on Green Avenue Thursday morning.Smith said as the officer turned around to follow the rust-colored Monte Carlo, the driver led the deputy on a chase, turning near St. Francis Hospital and continuing through the community of Judson.The driver then attempted to cross over the intersection of Florida Avenue and Easley Bridge Road, striking two oncoming vehicles on Easley Bridge Road before striking a traffic sign and stopping the vehicle.The driver and two other occupants fled the scene on foot. They were arrested by deputies a short time later. Charges were pending Thursday evening.Deputies were continuing to investigate if the three individuals in custody are connected to the robbery at a Greenville auto-detailing shop.Deputies were called to the Westside Detail at 1101 Green Ave. just after 11 Thursday morning. The business reported several men, who had left in a rust-colored Monte Carlo with tinted windows, had robbed the business.Smith said the people who were involved in the crash were not hurt.
