Woman Was Not Wearing Helmet, Coroner Says

The Union County Coroner’s Office said that a Pacolet woman was killed when her motorcycle collided with a deer on Wednesday night.

The coroner’s office said that 45-year-old Deborah Waters was driving her motorcycle on Highway 176 when she struck a deer at about 8:20 p.m.

Waters was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where she later died, the coroner’s office said.

The coroner’s office said that Waters was not wearing a helmet.
