Mother Finds Blood, Calls For Help

GREER, S.C. -- A Greer woman was found by her mother beaten and bloody inside her home on Wednesday evening, Greer police said.The attack happened at a home on Poplar Drive at about 6 p.m.Police said that the woman's mother, 72, became concerned about her daughter's wellfare after she had not heard from her all day. They said the mother went to the daughter's home and found blood inside. They said the mother then asked her son-in-law to call for help.According to an incident report, police found the 49-year-old victim naked and lying beside her bed, which had a large amount of blood on it and the pillows. The report said that the woman had suffered a laceration to the left side of her head and had severe swelling around her eyes and cheeks.The woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she is recovering from her injuries.Anyone with information about the attack was asked to call Greer police.FOX Carolina has opted not to reveal the name of the victim, the victim's mother or the exact address of the attack in order to protect the victim's identity.
