Sister Says Family Is Praying For Staton Family

BELTON, S.C. -- When detectives put the cuffs on Matthew Fullbright, most people who live near him in his Belton neighborhood said they couldn't believe it.Fullbright graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School and many who know him called him a good kid."We're confused and devastated," said Fullbright's sister, who did not want to be identified. "This has just been a real shock for the whole family. We hang onto the hope that you know he didn't do this."In an exclusive interview, Fullbright's sister talked about the foul crimes of which her brother is accused.Investigators said Fullbright beat Homer and JoAnn Staton to death, robbed them and then dumped their bodies."Our hearts definitely go out to the family," the sister said. "We're 100 percent devastated about this whole situation."Fullbright has also been accused of stealing from his parents home. According to an incident report, Fullbright stole jewelry, valuable coins and electrical equipment from the house.Now, the man many once called a good kid is an inmate at the Anderson County Detention Center."We send out our deepest prayers and sympathy to the family," Fullbright's sister. "We know they're having a hard time with this."
