Anderson County deputies said Wednesday that they arrested a second man in connection with the beating deaths of a Taylors couple.

Homer Staton and his wife, JoAnn, were found beaten to death in two different locations in late October. The couple's abandoned car was also found in a third location before the couple's bodies were found.

Investigators have said that Homer Staton was a well-known jewelry buyer who had met up with 29-year-old Matthew Fullbright, of Belton, to conduct business. They said that during the meeting, Fullbright beat the couple to death.

Fullbright was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of armed robbery when he was arrested on Oct. 29.

On Wednesday, deputies said that 50-year-old Irving Ramirez was charged with two counts of murder, two counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery.

Fullbright was also charged with an additional crime of conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery on Wednesday, deputies said.

Ramirez and Fullbright were being held at the Anderson County Detention Center under no bond.
