Robber Tackled Woman In Back Yard, Deputies Say

Greenville County deputies said that a woman was beaten and robbed by a man at her home on Wednesday night.

The attack happened at a home on Cole Road near Easley Bridge Road.

Deputies said that the woman was opening the door to her home when a man driving by jumped out of the car and tried to rob her. They said the woman ran into her back yard, where she was tackled by the robber.

Investigators said that the man tried to strangle her with a wire and the woman began having seizures.

Deputies said that the man then grabbed the woman's purse and $70 and ran away.

The woman was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for broken ribs.

Anyone with information about the attack and robbery was asked to call Greenville County Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
