UNION, S.C. -- A woman who admitted to killing a Union County high school cheerleader last year was sentenced to life in prison on Friday.Yolanda Thompson and her husband, Pernell, pleaded guilty to murder in March.Police said that 16-year-old Marisha Jeter was killed and her body dumped off a bridge over the Broad River in January 2008.Investigators said that after Marisha picked up food, the Thompsons asked her to meet them near a Union YMCA.Police said that the couple from Jonesville killed Marisha at the YMCA, took her body to a bridge over the Broad River in Lockhart and dumped it there. The couple then drove her car several miles away and set it on fire, police said.Yolanda Thompson has already been sentenced to five years in prison on a conspiracy charge.Pernell Thompson was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to murder, kidnapping and armed robbery in March.
