GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A woman was arrested on Monday night after she stabbed her boyfriend with a steak knife, Greenville County deputies said.

The stabbing happened at the Woodstream Apartments between 11 p.m. and 12 a.m.

Investigators said that the couple were arguing and the woman grabbed the knife and stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach. They said they are still trying to determine what started the argument and why the woman allegedly stabbed the man.

The names of neither the woman nor the boyfriend were released.

Deputies said they are waiting until the investigation is complete to decide if the woman will be charged with a crime.

The was no immediate word on the boyfriend's condition.
