North Charleston police said that they found a missing 1-month-old boy whose disappearance prompted a statewide Amber Alert.

According to authorities, Angel Perez was found unharmed at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in Summerville.

Andrea Walker, 19, of North Charleston, was arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection with the baby's disappearance.

Police said that the infant was taken to a local hospital, where he was reunited with his parents.

Investigators said that the Amber Alert was issued after the boy's 26-year-old mother left the infant inside a running vehicle Monday and then ran into a post office to drop off mail. They said that when she returned to her vehicle, the child was gone.

The Amber Alert was canceled when the boy was found.

A press conference was scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday.
