GREER, S.C. -- The Greer Police Department is investigating the deaths of a husband and wife after their bodies were found inside their home on Monday night.

The bodies of 70-year-old Michael Waters and his wife, 71-year-old Sandra Waters, were discovered at 15 Coulter Court.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Scott Ramsey said the couple appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds, but would not confirm how the couple died.

Late Monday night, Ramsey said he is classifying the case as a death investigation.

Neighbors told investigators they last saw the couple on Saturday walking their dogs. Officers were unable to locate the dogs as of Monday night.

According to neighbors, the couple moved to the Upstate six years ago after retiring from their jobs in New Jersey.
