The driver of a car that flipped on Monday night in Greenville County, resulting in the death of the passenger, was arrested on Tuesday.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Tugaloo Road and Highway 11.

Troopers said that James Duck was driving a Honda Accord and lost control of the vehicle, which caused it to flip. They said that the woman who was a passenger in the car, 25-year-old Kandys Batson, of Lyman, was pinned underneath it. She died at the scene.

Investigators said that Duck fled the scene of the crash after it happened. He was arrested on Tuesday morning and was charged with driving under the influence resulting in death and leaving the scene of an accident involving a death.
