ATM Ripped From Ground During Robbery
Thieves Leave Forklift Behind

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Thieves got away with more than just money when they struck an Upstate bank on Monday morning -- they got away with the entire ATM.The robbery happened at the Wachovia Bank at 1174 Woodruff Road just before 5 a.m.Deputies said that when they arrived, they found a forklift and broken cables, but no ATM. They said that surveillance video from the bank is being looked at in an effort to identify the thieves.The bank was closed today for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.Deputies said that the forklift had been stolen from a construction site near the Shoppes at Green Ridge.Anyone with information on the theft was asked to call Greenville County Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
