MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. -- A landslide in Maggie Valley Friday has left several people homeless.Officials said the landslide was estimated to be 100 yards wide and fell about 400 or 500 yards down the mountain.At least seven homes were affected by the landslide, and an emergency shelter has been set up at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church on Soco Road to house displaced residents. However, many evacuees have decided to stay with friends, family or in a hotel, FOX Carolina News reported.Officials said crews will be at the site Saturday to survey the damage.
