Car Sought In Boy's Disappearance Found In SC Monday

NEWBERRY, S.C. -- The suspects in an Amber Alert issued for a 7-month-old Tennessee boy were arrested on Tuesday morning.The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said that the child, Drake Boyd, was turned over to authorities in Maimi by the child's paternal grandmother on Monday evening.On Tuesday morning, Miami police arrested the boy's father, 35-year-old David Jackson, and three women believed to be accomplices in the kidnapping.Earlier Monday, a car sought in connection with the Amber Alert was found in Newberry County on Monday, deputies said.

Deputies said that a trooper stopped to check on an abandoned vehicle found in the emergency lane of eastbound Interstate 26 near mile marker 74 just after 8 a.m. They said that when the trooper ran the vehicle's license plate number, he discovered the car was stolen from Tennessee and contacted Newberry County deputies.Investigators said that the vehicle found matched the description of a vehicle believed to be involved in the kidnapping of Drake from his mother's home in Greene County, Tenn.Deputies said that they launched a massive search of the area surrounding the car in an effort to find Drake and Jackson.Greene County investigators said that Jackson took the boy during a violent assault of Drake's mother about 4 p.m. Sunday. They said that Jackson fled the scene with the boy in the car that was found on Monday. They said that three women accomplices also fled the scene in a white Chrysler Sebring with Florida license plates.
